I was surprised to learn last night that Brother Dave Ohlerking had passed on to be with the Lord. He is one of those men who makes a lasting impression on you the first time you meet him. My first encounter with Brother Dave was at an ARC conference in Baton Rouge. He was so encouraging. He founded Children’s Cup in Africa, which we have supported off and on for the past six years. Over the years I have gotten to know his son, Dan, and his granddaughter Tori came out to serve with us in California. The whole family is incredible. The world was a better place because of him. He was a man of God, and I am a better person for knowing him. Our love and prayers are with the Ohlerkings. We love y’all.
Yeah, he will be missed, but right now, he is kickin’ it with Jesus. A life well lived.
1 Cor 5:6-8
6Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord–7for we walk by faith, not by sight–8we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. (NASB)
