I was at an ARC conference in the spring of 2004 when I was sitting in Starbucks on Highland road in Baton Rough, LA talking to Pastor Mark Stermer about needing a pastor for our church. After he listened a while, he said as only Mark can, “You’re the Campus Pastor.” Those were not the words I was expecting to hear. God works in amazing, unexpected ways. He has shown throughout the Bible that he will use those who least expect it. Still, somehow, I feel inadequate and unprepared for what He as called me to. I suppose that is where He wants us to be, completely dependent on Him and what He can do. Trust me, I walk in my own strength plenty, but know that’s not where He wants us. Isaiah 55 says “His ways are not our ways, neither are our thoughts His thoughts.” Thank you Lord.
